Music Lovin' #17 (Fly Me to the Moon/Lucky (Sinatra/Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat MASHUP) Rick Hale & Breea Guttery)

10:29 AM

Recently saw a choreography of Fly Me To The Moon, a song by Frank Sinatra, and it gave me all the feels for his songs, because of all the awesomeness - the jazzy, swing goodness. So not only did I find covers of Fly Me To The Moon on youtube, because listening to people's remakes of the oldie is just so wonderful, but I found this mashup of not only fly me to the moon, but with Lucky too! Can't say enough about my love for Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat (still butchering her last name by the way), and Lucky just brings back a lot of memories from my OCSP trip (I had a post on the trip itself). I just love how an oldie and a modern song can blend seamlessly together. Currently listening to Frank Sinatra's playlist on spotify because why not??? I would love to go to a Jazz bar someday, and watch a guy play a saxophone with a singer crooning all the jazz classics (how incredible would that be???) I digress, but the focus is on this mash up and Frank Sinatra's amazeballs voice and music. Sometimes, I'd think I was born in the wrong generation but with today's technology I am still able to listen to all these oldies, so I guess that's alright.

Hello internet humans, its been awhile... BUT I'VE BEEN OBSESSED WITH THESE YOUTUBE SINGERS LATELY!!! THEY'RE SO DAMN TALENTED! So much love that I need to spread it! They're really awesome individually as well so go check out their channels! LOVE LOVE LOVE ANDIE'S COVER OF SHAKE IT OFF AND RIPTIDE ESPECIALLY! Her voice is just so incredibly good and her covers are definitely really different, good different. Dodie is so adorable!!! Her awkward duet with Jon Mozart, aka Paint, is so freaking cute I can't even describe it. (OMG GO CHECK OUT ANDIE AND DODIE'S COVER OF LOVE YOURSELF, you won't regret it) Orla is really talented too! She makes her own original songs and I think she looks so pretty!!! (her covers all have a flair toooooo!) ALL THREE OF THEM HAVE MAD GUITAR/UKULELE SKILLS I'M SO JEALOUS.
yup that's the end of my fangirling moment. but seriously, check them out ;)

Music Lovin' #14 (California - Mindy Gledhill)

12:04 AM

Hey people on the internet! Happy New Year since this is the first post of 2016! Haven't done a Music Lovin' post in such a long time so I'm back with one! This song isn't new to me and I've been obsessed with Mindy Gledhill's music since 5 years ago or so? How did I find out about her? From watching Michelle Phan's make up tutorials hahahah. Yes I was addicted to Youtube and make up tutorials since 2009 or so and Michelle Phan likes to use Mindy Gledhill's music in her videos and I'm glad since I was able to get to know great talent like hers. I chose this video specifically because she sounds EXACTLY the same live and on her recordings or maybe even better??? I would say her music is whimsical and just makes me really happy when I'm listening to her songs. Her christmas album is pretty great too!

California is a really cute song probably great for a road trip or just travelling in general? Or even when you feel like going on a trip but is not able to... listen to this and imagine where you could go? The possibilities are endless but its just a light hearted song to be enjoyed, kick back and relax while listening to this! Hope you'll enjoy this song as much as I do! Till next time, Toodles!

Music Lovin' #13 (Year 3000 - Busted)

12:09 AM

Hi people on the internet! Maybe some of you have heard of this song by the Jonas Brothers but in actual fact, the song was originallu performed by Busted! The song is pretty meaningless but its a fun song nonetheless. I'm pretty busy nowadays since I now have a job! Its not that bad so far, tiring yes but not horrible. I need the money anyway... For my pocket money. Anyway, hopr everyone's having a great start in the new year and maybe jam out with this song? Till next time! Cheerio!

Music Lovin' #12 (No Matter Where You Are - Us The Duo)

12:23 PM

Hello people!!!! I'M FINALLY BACK! A levels are not over yet but the major papers are overrrr(*happy dance*) I'm left with one last paper which I still need to study for. I'm glad that As are almost over and done with but at the same time sad coz' honestly they're pretty sucky and I don't think I'll fare well. Can't really do anything about them anymore but I'm hoping the outcome won't be horrendous like I think they are.

Anyhooo, music is my life if you haven't realise so of course there's gonna be some songs that i've been replaying non-stop like this one!! Maybe some of you might realise its from the movie The Book Of Life. But the singers were actually Youtubers and they're now signed under Republic Records if I'm not wrong. Yes this duo is a couple and they first sang this song on their wedding! They wrote a song that was practically their vows!!!! AWWWWWWW its so incredibly sweet that I always feel warm and fuzzy inside when I listen to it. Their relationship is to die for. Such a cute couple and their other songs are pretty awesome too coz' almost all the songs they've written are like blurbs of their relationship. But recently I've realised that many of their original songs are taken down from YouTube. I think its because of them being like legit artistes under a label now. Their covers are still on their channel though so be sure to check them out if interested. One favourite of mine would be their TV medley, to be honest I don't know all the songs but they sang it so wonderfully that i still love it anyway.

They're actually gonna be in Singapote ti perform on 10 December with Gentle Bones as the guest! Gentle Bones is local talent actually and he's in my school alumni. He's on YouTube as well! Not all of his songs are my cup of tea but he's pretty talented. I kinda wanna go for their gig but I'll be overseas and maybe my obssession with them is just a phase. They have a music video of No Matter Where You Are as well for the movie!

Typed this entire post on my phone so I apologise if there are any spelling mistakes. My sister's Macbook is kinda wonky right now so I'm not gonna risk spoiling it in my hands. Been listening to T Swift's 1989 as well but i think I'm gonna write up a separate post on it.
My spotify playlists have been so on point. I'll share my link another time though and probably talk a bit about it as well coz' I'm too lazy to do that right now. Typing a blog post on my phone is not very easy. Till next time! Cheers!

Music Lovin' #11 (Miracles Happen - Myra)

10:33 PM

Hey guys! Sorry for not updating for 2 weeks but i'm trying to eliminate distractions so yes blogging is one of them, which I don't even think I've been very successful anyway... So yes i''m hoping and praying really hard that a miracle can happen and I won't screw up As badly... Its terrifying. Laziness is like a part of me now that I can't even control distractions are EVERYWHERE. Whoever that's reading this blog please pray for me too, I desperately need it.

By the way I'm effing terrified by you readers coz' I have no flipping idea who y'all are and I'm trying my best to not put myself so out there. Whatever thats on the internet stays on the internet and I have no idea if whatever I've written would be placed against me sometime in the future. I'm fine with strangers reading all these but people who know me personally? (Or just people around me in general) its quite embarrassing & awkward. And you know what if I happen to be ranting about them or something (which I shouldn't be putting online but this was meant to be an outlet and to talk about things I like) So yes especially seeing readers from Singapore, effing scary.

Anyway back to the song its from the movie The Princess Diaries, which was originally a book series, one of my favourite Disney movie of all time, Anna Hathaway anyone? And also I love the books by Meg Cabot, not very educational but its funny and easy to read, sue me. The song is just a fun and uplifting so enjoy!

I'll be on hiatus for a month or so unless i decide to vent my frustrations about exams and stress(this better motivate me). The blog would likely be more interesting and more frequently updated after As coz I can then play without guilt! Till next time! Cheerio!

Music Lovin' #10 ( Who Am I To Stand In Your Way - Chester See )

9:48 PM

Hey people! I'm back since my prelims are over! But A levels is 37 days away (goddamnit) I should probably start work soon, but I have a feeling I'm going to be slacking till next tuesday coz' that's when school is back in full swing again. I don't have anything interesting to talk about so it's another music recommendation! An original song by 2 YouTubers, Chester See and its co written by Golden. Its a sappy love song, and it touched me because of how much emotions is poured into this song by Chester. I felt so so so sad for him, though I personally didn't go through a break up before, neither was I ever in love, but how he sang it, it touched my heart

On a side note, YouTuber, Bethany Mota, aka macbarbie07, is on DWTS! So proud of her! And Seventeen Magazine has a special YouTube issue (which is only available in the US. ARGH)
Also, I'm thinking about getting vocal lessons after A levels, which my sister thinks is a waste of money. BUT if I'm gonna be working and I have the money, why can't I do it. If you think about it, I'm learning a skill, which is much better than shopping and spending on material goods right? & I don't wanna learn driving as of yet, coz' the cars in Singapore are ridiculously expensive, I don't think I'll be driving one, let alone own one anytime soon. So why can't I learn how to sing. (Belinda is ranting again. what's new.) Have been really irritable nowadays, god I'm becoming such a cynical and horribly mean and impatient person. (I can list all my flaws but I hardly ever think I can really change them)

SO ANYWAY. Hope you enjoy the song and till next time! Cheerio!

Music Lovin' #9 ( Another you (Another way) - Against the Current)

2:25 PM

I'm going to be pretty busy these few weeks thanks to exams (not that i'm working incredibly hard or anything) but I haven't got the time to sit down in front of the computer and come up with a post. Studying had been really slow and though internally I know I'm going to be so dead next week, another part of me just can't make myself to get it together. So today I have a music video for y'all by a band on YouTube! Hope y'all like it coz' I had it on repeat this whole week! Till next time! Cheerio!

Music Lovin' #8 (Just Pretend - Hayley Sales)

9:30 PM

Hey guys! It's Friday again!!!! (Time is passing by really quickly :l a little too quickly) Maybe I'll have weekly updates every Friday! This week has been pretty exciting but I'm gonna post about the things I've done in June and July at the end of the month so look forward to that? (If y'all are even curious about what I've been doing) Haven't done a music lovin' post in awhile but this song has been on replay for these few weeks!!!

I think y'all would have realised the kind of music I like already, mostly light hearted songs that are kinda poppish? I know they are not everyone's cup of tea but maybe give it a chance? It's subjective if you like it or hate it. Just Pretend is about long distance relationships but it's depicted in a really cute way, not only that I friggin' love the music video, it's so cute!!! So I'm a little obsessed with Hayley Sales' songs and I'm really excited because she's gonna have a new album soon! This is this week's short update and hope y'all enjoy the song and video! Cheerios! Music Lovin' #7 (You Get What You Give - New Radicals)

5:12 PM

;0 Another Music' Lovin' update within a week you say? I was bored and hearing this song on the radio and my poddy (aka my iPod) made me remember how much I love this song. Actually I took notice of this song as it was covered by Glee on the season finale of season 3. This was covered by the 'seniors' of the glee club, which included Mark Salling! (much love) though sadly the recorded version didn't include his solo... ): The cover on Glee almost brought me to tears coz' the TV performance was heartwarming since they sang this song to their fellow glee clubbers as a farewell. You Get What You Give was a hit in the 90s and what can I say? I love this pop song, the rhythm and the band playing in the background is just awesome, especially the guitar part. It was featured in many movies before, like Scooby Doo 2, Flintstones etc (I probably heard the song before since I've watched those movies before) This song is purff, it has cheesy lyrics (which I actually like) but the ending lyrics were different and interesting:
Health insurance rip off lying

FDA big bankers buying
Fake computer crashes dining
Cloning while they're multiplying
Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson
Courtney love and Marilyn Manson
You're all fakes
Run to your mansions
Come around
We'll kick your ass in

With political issues being raised and celebrity dissing in the closing lyrics, it's a no wonder it has caught the media's attention. Hope y'all enjoy the song coz' I love it! Do watch the Glee version too, the performance if I must say, coz' it has Mark Salling and it was awesome. Till next time! Cheerio!

Music Lovin' #6 (Life Is Rosy - Jess Penner)

10:38 PM

I'm losing track of the number for this series of posts every single time... My memory is failing me. So today's song is a happy and peppy song that might not be everyone's thing. I think it's more feminine? Some might feel like the song lacks depth, but I think such songs are more light hearted and is just fun to listen to, without having to think too much about it. I can imagine myself getting ready in the morning to this song, many of Jess Penner's songs actually. It just instantly wakes me up and brightens up my day. It just gives off a really positive vibe, and I think everyone needs a bit of positivity in their life. Hope y'all enjoy this song! Cheerio!
