Hello people whom I don't know! Didn't post over the weekend coz' life happened. (nahh I was out with people... I HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE WOW. yes indeed.) I guess I'll post about the "exciting" things next week coz' this weekend's gonna be another busy one.. & I actually have an exam paper next monday so... Anyway, this is just me being bored so I sang! (shamelessly covering a song) My voice is not that amazing or anything, but you know I have the right to do whatever I want to, even if its showcasing my "talent". It's a chinese song so for those foreign readers out there, (blogger allows us to see the demographics and I actually have readers from the States, Poland, and Russia??? much surprise there I have no idea what brought them here) Y'all probably can't "appreciate" it. It's just a part of the song and its from a Taiwanese Drama (which I was rewatching.. procrastinating *coughs*) Don't hate on me, I was bored and clearly have grown thicker skin (I think its temporary). I believe I sang the song like a little higher than the original, and keep in mind I wasn't a Soprano in choir for a reason, so singing high notes? Not my forte. So... I guess... Enjoy???
Till next time! Cheerio!

Why you gotta be so mean?

11:19 PM

Its not a friday... again... but I've been catching up on some Zs, so I apologize for the late post. (Technically, I feel like this is just a place for me to reflect and rant on and I don't actually have to be so conscious about my updates since I'm not some famous blogger..) Anyway, today's National Day (Singapore's birthday) so yeah... but nothing interesting happened.

This week's post is going to be some self reflection for me. I think I've been a horrible person. Somehow coming to JC I've become a meaner person, maybe the people around me, I'm not really sure why but I realised I've been judging people more and talking badly about people.. I know I'm terrible, but immediately after that I'd start feeling bad and guilty. I know its kinda hypocritical of me to judge people when I don't want others to judge me. I don't say it out per se, but just having those bad thoughts make me so guilty and horrible. I think I have my classmates to blame as some of them are really blunt and just say what they think without much filter. It's one thing to be direct but another when it's a judgement of say a stranger. I really have to process before I say something, I'm such an idiot. 'face palm'

So another sign of me being a mean human being? Talking bad about people, which can be said to be some form of gossiping? Actually, everyone gossips, its just how often we do it. Nevertheless, its a bad habit, and I should try to curb it. Personally, I don't really gossip and talk bad about people that often, if you wanna compare to other people, but there's definitely an increase in frequency and I absolutely hate it. Most of the time, about the male species.. Technically, they didn't really do anything to me, but what they do offends me. I'm sure I've mentioned tons of times that I dislike guys. It just so happens that the guys I've met and seen around are jerks or just weird in general. And the stories I hear... 'shudders' In secondary school, I've basically been living in my own bubble and is generally quite unaware of the guys and things going on around me. I live in a world with only my friends and all distinctly female, there's not many anyway. But the guys in my secondary school are quite horrible too, the ah bengs (male hooligans/rebellious guys?) get on my nerves, insulting people, smoking and bullying? It kills me to be in the same room as them. In JC, the guys are just weird and ungentlemanly and desperate.
Damn it, talking bad about guys in the post... see all these pent up frustrations?!?! they do hold some truth though.. so is it that bad??? YES IT IS BAD. I NEED TO REFLECT AND LIKE EXORCISE THE EVIL ME. I will control myself and see how it goes, maybe exercise and destress. (psh like I would actually keep up with exercising.. who am I kidding) I will try my best to keep my inner meanie down.

Sorry if this is an awfully boring post, but I needed to talk to myself and you know get rid of such undesirable habits. Hope y'all are having a great weekend so far! Till next time! Cheerio!

June & July 2014

12:50 AM

Hey guys! Sorry the post is a day late! But this post is gonna be mostly pictures and y'all can live vicariously through my pictures of the past 2 months, like I've said! The start of June, which was the start of my break, I went to Haji Lane with my friend for the first time! I know, I know, that's really slow of me. For those who don't know what's Haji Lane, its basically a hipster street with lots of indie shophouses which are really cool and artsy fartsy. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but I believe most Singaporeans would know what it looks like, if not just google it. Love the vibe there and the stuff they sell! But they're all out of my budget, really cool clothings and accessories and other stuff. Maybe when I have the money?

Next, during the first week of June I went to my friend's house to make KIMCHI! Pretty fun experience and I met some of her other friends too. (Awkward turtle attempted to socialize here)

The breakfast I made for Father's Day! Here we have baked sweet potato fries, tuna salad and these scrambled egg muffins! Filled with spinach, tomato and bacon! So proud of myself, but the preparation and washing up was madness.

Fast forward to the third week of June, coz' the previous week I pretty much just rotting at home, dinner at Kith's Cafe with my friends!!! Was pretty yummmmz, but rather pricey! The coffee's pretty good too!

KOREAN FOOD FOR MY BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCED! YAYYYYYY
This was at Togi Restaurant(?) really really good if you're a korean food lover like me! Try their potato pancakes and ddeokbokki!

My expensive birthday cake that cost $50? $60? My greedy dog tried to eat it as you can see.

This was after a week of exams and we felt like we needed a break. So waffles at Assembly Coffee! Earl Grey Caramel Waffles! I liked it!

Steamboat at Hai Di Lao for my dad's very advanced birthday dinner! Usually people have to queue for 3 hours just to eat this, the service is really good and they provide entertainment while you queue too! The ingredients are fresh and the Ma La (hot spicy) soup base was not too spicy so that was a plus!

My Earl Grey and Lavender ice cream cone from Sunday's Folk which is a branch of Creamier. Love the flavour!

This was really exciting! We had a learning journey (excursion) to the Art Science Museum at Marina Bay Sands!!!! We were lucky coz' there were some classes that had to go Labrador Park or some Malay Heritage Centre, but there was also the S.E.A Aquarium.
The exhibitions they had was the Dinosaur exhibition and the Annie Leibovitz Exhibition. I was really really excited coz' I've never been to the museum and go for such exhibitions before! We only had 1 hour there though, so we were practically zooming past everything. I think I liked the Annie Leibovitz Exhibition a little more maybe because it made me feel more artistic and sophisticated just coz' I was "appreciating" art. I probably don't know much about photography but I did love the pictures that tell a story. They were really interesting and captivating, but unfortunately I don't really know how to appreciate the portraits of people, especially of people I don't know. Photography wasn't allowed in Leibovitz's exhibition, so no pictures for y'all! Really happy to have the opportunity to visit the museum.

After the exhibitions, I had Macarons! (Not macaroons! THEY ARE DIFFERENT. GET IT RIGHT.) From TWG, my favourite flavour of Moroccan Mint i think.

And IIAO IIAO. (attention its IIao IIao and not LLAO LLAO, and it's pronounced at YAO YAO, we asked.) Its hyped up by many and I admit it's good, it tastes better than other froyos in the market ( I still love my Yami Yogurt) but I'm kind of sick of seeing people posting pictures of it around. (The irony coz' I'm posting it here) Pretty good but I kind of think its a tad bit over rated.

My Roast Beef on Sourdough, coz' they ran out of Rye. SO GOOD! This is from The Lokal by the way, a newly opened cafe owned by an Australian chef I think??? (correct me if I'm wrong) They make their own ricotta and yogurt so that's really cool. A tad bid pricier than your usual cafes but really good food.

MY BANDAGE FROM DONATING BLOOD. I feel so proud of myself for doing it though I almost fainted from it (well I started feeling nauseous towards the end, when the bag was almost full) But still proud of myself nevertheless coz' I was so scared (a wimp I know). I got rejected the last time because I had a cough and was really disappointed but luckily the school hosts the blood donation drive twice a year.
Okay so I actually just went to the Istana, which is actually August but you know it's close enough. The Istana is open to the public when there's an event or special occasion, in this case it's National day and Hari Raya Puasa. My mum wanted to go and since we've never been there before, I agreed. Honestly, there's nothing much, basically just ornaments and gifts they've received from other countries placed around. It was a long walk from the gate to the building.

Me in front of some flowers wearing my new shades! (not a very flattering photo of me, when do I actually look good? like NEVER.

SO.... That's a summary of exciting (kinda) things I've done over the course of June and July. Hope y'all like it? Though it's mostly pictures and not much insightful words. Do tell me if you like such posts or its really boring. I kinda feel iffy about it... Until next time! Cheerio!
